Cortney Martin asked:
Being a cat owner can be a very rewarding thing, but many people are discouraged from owning a cat because they hear horror stories about cats misbehaving. It is true that many cats have behavioral problems, but it isn’t because they are unintelligent or just simply naughty by nature. Cats are very independent creatures and unless they are properly trained, they are probably going to have behavior issues.
We have all heard the expression “curiosity killed the cat.” Cats are very curious by nature and this is important to remember when your cat is “misbehaving.” Just like humans, cats get bored and are likely to be very attracted to unknown objects. Keep this in mind when your cat decides to play with the picture frames on the wall or knock your jewelry off your dresser. They aren’t doing these things to intentionally upset you,
they don’t understand what they are doing is considered a bad behavior. Successful cat behavior training involves positive reinforcement, meaning encouraging your cat to behave properly, rather than punishing them for behaving badly. Don’t ever hit or scold them.
In the case of your cat getting on your dresser, instead of yelling at them or throwing something to scare them off, nicely pick your cat up and put them back on the floor. Continue to do this until they figure out they aren’t supposed to be up there, and then reward them with a treat or affection each time they jump off on their own or when they eventually just stop jumping up all together.
The difficulty with cat behavior training is that people don’t ever think about it until they own a cat that has behavior issues, which is only natural. It is important for people considering getting a cat to do research on common cat behavior problems and educate themselves on how to fix them. Knowing what to possibly expect and educating yourself on how to deal with the problem will help you get a head start before you bring your new cat home. Once you have the new cat, start training them immediately. It is never too early to start behavior training your cat.
Not all cats are going to have behavior problems. Each cat has a unique personality, just as humans, and some cat owners never have an issue with their cat’s behavior, others will have to train theirs. Don’t let the possibility of having to train your cat keep you from having one as a pet. They are very loving animals and you can develop a great relationship if you put in the time and effort it takes.

Digital cameras may have taken the market by storm, and even though they do a great job taking pictures, digital picture frames haven’t done much to replace actual photos. Haha I know, it deafened me lol
I love cats!
I have two.. I hope I can help you.
Feeding. I've made the mistake of keeping their plates filled all the time. So my cats are a little chubby
I feed them on plates, because cats don't like when the bowl hits their whiskers – so I heard. I suggest feeding them each 1 cup in the morning, and one at night.
Litter. Keep it clean… If you find they are scraping the wall? It's cause they don't want dirty litter in their claws.. they're very picky. Mine still do that sometimes even when it's clean.
Care. Basically… try to buy healthy food if you can, watch for ear mites (if the q-tip comes out brown, it's just dirt. If it comes out red, it's mites) Car eat wax is black by the way. Of course, if something in their behavior changes, or they're sneezing a lot.. take them in to the vet.
I'd say take them in once a year, just for a check up. And if they pee in weird places? They might have a bladder infection. If it's a male cat, he may need to get fixed.
After fixing cats, they usually calm down a bit.
Excersice. My girl likes to play with a marble in the bathtub lol Or chases my hand up and down the wall as I hide behind a corner. They LOVE the red lazer light! You probably already know, but don't shine it in their eyes
Bathing. They're pretty good at keeping themselves clean.
In the Summertime, if it gets too hot.. I get a cold damp washcloth, and pet them with it (my boy loves it, my girl doesn't)
As for cleaning up? They get hairballs once in a while. Pick it up with a paper towel, lysol the area, and it'll be fine. Also… if they are throwing up a lot? It may be dye in the food. My girl can't eat cat food with certain red dye.
I think that's it!
Enjoy your kitties!! ~ Jen
NOT VOCAL??? my russian blue loved to talk to me.
Hello,
No frames. Good pictures are very lovely w/o them.
Very good idea .
Good call. Kohn’s knowledge of the research on motivation is masterful.
I really wish I could get my dog to poop in this, especially when stooping to pick up poop on a hill with a baby strapped to my chest.
I don't know anyone who uses helicoptering, the Koehler method, etc. I don't think you can even compare them to cesar, who works with a lot of red zone dogs many humane societies would put down due to aggression. There is no way many of those dogs who have bitten, shown food aggression would be re homeable. Many rescues put dogs down for food aggression without any work at retraining.
Many people use positive rewards and training with dogs and other pets. Why do you think all the dog show trainers use treats to reward good behavior? Open your eyes.
Your anology of the husband and the wife really has no bearing when it comes to dog training. According to your thought pattern she needs to use positive reinforcement with her abusive husband too?
i have a burmilla she is short haired and her name is dixie. she is the coolest!!!!!!!!!!
Things like carrots or dried peas are great treats. You can also reinforce him with praise, attention, or a favorite toy.
bitch got slapped

Hunt them down in second hand stores, Goodwill, rummage sales, etc.
I don't make my own picture frames. The wood is too expensive. I only have a print professionally done if it's very special and too large for me to do it myself.
Be sure if you hunt down frames that they have glass in them so you don't have to purchase the glass.
Picture frames, ready made picture frames, custom picture frames, custom canvas printing, wood picture frames, metal picture frames, discount picture frames
Just wondering . . . Is Syd still there or now in his forever home? Please tell!
wow
Train him to collect the money you should earn for demonstrating that trick and teaching the rest of the cat-owning public to provide such training.
I feed my cat before I leave for work. First thing when I wake up, I will pet her. Normally she is around me if I am at home so she plays with me when she wants to. She has a self cleaning litter box but she knows exactly when it moves the litter. She normally sleeps when I am watching tv or on the computer and she plays with my foot EXACTLY when I start to fall asleep, lol!

What RAPPatton said. once and only once. Then what anna said, let it fail. And if that isn’t bearable, sometimes you just need to have a heart to heart: I don’t want to nag you, I shouldn’t even have to say anything, it’s only fair that you pay attention and take it upon yourself. Not doing so is a lack of respect for me. If that approach also fails, then perhaps the lack of respect goes deeper than you want to admit.
