Cat Behavior Problems
Cats are capable of being fascinating companions. The majority of the time they can be wonderful to have around, but there are some strange cat behavior problems that can irritate even the most enduring owner.
Missing The Litter Box
You know that there is something wrong when a cat or kitten has a problem when they being to urinate in places other than their kitty litter or the place in which they have been taught to go. The first step is to clean out the litter box on a regular basis so that it is nice smelling. No one likes an unclean toilet! This could possibly resolve the crisis. If not, take your cat to the vet for a once over. Your cat could have a physical problem that might be making it hard for them to make it to the box in time. After having your cat looked at by a veterinarian for possible physical problems which could have caused this strange cat behavior problems, there are other ways in which you can assist your cat back to toileting where it is supposed to.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - Can Your Cat Have This Problem
Did you know that a few cats develop behaviors that are obsessive compulsive, like tail chewing, excessive licking, wool-sucking, or fur-pulling? Characteristic physical problems could be something as negligible as fleas or as major as neuropathy. So having your cat looked at by its vet is a smart first choice.
Excessive Fear Or Inhibition Results In A Scaredy Cat
There are a few cats that have an excessive fear or inhibition around people. If you show patience and love the cat can grow out of the timid state. But do not rush this process, as you can make it worse and it can result in a cat behavior that is violent and bites or scratches.
The majority of kittens are socialized as they grow up, by being held by a variety of different people who smell different and act different. If your kitten didn't get this advantage, it may grow into a reserved and nervous adult cat. Give it time to come out, then reward "showing up" with a food treat it likes. You will be able to coax it out with a trail of food leading to its bowl, moving the bowl a bit each day. Talk tenderly to it, letting it warm up slowly. While your cat may never be fully socialized and welcome contact with others, it can still be a nice family pet.
Anxious And Apprehensive Cats
You will find that there are a few cats that feel a lot of stress and anxiety. This stress can lead to additional cat behavior problems, like depression or litter box avoidance. If these symptoms (of stress and anxiety) become visible unexpectedly, first make sure the cat's heath is ok with the vet. If your cats health is ok, then you would want to look at the cat's environment could be contributing to the stress level.

Well, my gauges must be wrong. I’ve got a wind blowing due east. Now what kind of a fog blows against the wind?
=[ I couldnt do that… one of my HS friends lived next to the butcher shop her family owned. needless to say i never went there haha
aahh, why did you scare him/her
sprinkle cayenne pepper on the area and the cats will avoid it altogether. It won't hurt your plants.
They are social animals – not as social as dogs, but I once saw as many as 10 stray cats walking around together like a pack. And of course, they're descendants of wild species and have been tamed over generations to accommodate man better. (You wouldn't want something with the temperament of a lynx in your home!)
Some cat races also have characteristics. Siamese are more independent and haughty (they were once revered as Gods – as if cats didn't have enough of an ego!). Maine Coons are really friendly and affectionate. Spanish tabbies are quiet, etc… They've been bred that way.
I don't think there's any recent development, though. Evolution doesn't work that fast.
Excessive photography alert instills 'fear': American transport chiefs have sparked controversy by putting up sign…
I am sorry to hear that. I also rescued a cat but she did not completely recovered from trauma when she was young. I suggest several things to consider: They are:
cutting the tip of nails-it will be less painful
at night-put him in the laundry/garage for a night/meal time
feed only at night after your meal
use water pistol with vinegar or lemon juice in it (just little bit)-cat really hates it
more activity with the cat
raw chicken wings/necks-good for teeth and boredom
time out room-set boundaries and put him there if he behaves badly for at least 30 minutes-he is there because you saved him and you deserve quality of life too
possibility of anxiety-it might costly but you can actually get some "prozac" like med for cat who suffers from anxiety
If nothing works-please surrender the cat. I am hesitant about this option but sometimes nothing really works and this becomes last resort.
Wish i’d seen this years ago. Could’ve stopped all those “arran” knicknames (Sweater!!). Still, i’ll give it a try!
im your cat, “holy shit!”

Except walls. And maybe horizontal surfaces.
I'm also a vegetarian and animal owner, i think it is completely wrong cruel to harm innocent animals for clothes when there are many diff rent fabrics to use on clothes and such.
Put one in a room with his/her food and shut the door. Your older cat is just trying to be the boss and will probably continue to do this even after the kitten has grown up. My dominate cat hates to see the dog eat and will stare at her which makes her nervous .
